Let’s start off with some exciting news that all of us here at DMD Pathfinders have been eager to share!
DMD Pathfinders are pleased to announce that we now have two development workers employed for us, they both have Duchenne and will be job sharing. Having development workers will allow us to do more outreach and take the strain off our CEO so he can concentrate more on strategy related tasks.
So without further ado we would like to wish a very warm welcome to Mitch and Tyran, you will all be hearing lots more from them in the coming months, they are bursting with ideas and looking forward to working with everyone.
Mitch has already written a blog post introducing himself, click the photo above to read it.
Tyran is well known by most of you I’m sure, not least for his fundraising activities last year where he raised an amazing amount of money with Team DMD Pathinders Gib or Bust Rally!
Jon, our CEO, attended TfL’s Access All Areas event, you can read more about the event itself on Tomas’ website Step-Free London. They also recorded the video above of Jon’s journey from Reading to the ExCeL London for Access All Areas, using buses, trains and tube!
Daniel, one of our trustees, featured in an article in the online Observe Magazine as an alumnus of Oxford Brookes University, he speaks about his university life, achievements since and working with DMD Pathfinders.
We will be taking part in the DMD/SMA young adults forum in Glasgow this May, if you are interested in coming along then please register on eventbrite, we would love to see you there.
A Request for new Trustees
If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a trustee for DMD Pathfinders please get in touch, we are looking for people passionate about helping adults with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
As a trustee you will be helping shape the future of DMD Pathfinders, meetings are held online every couple of months so no travel is required. There are many exciting opportunities also available when you become a trustee, from representing the charity at events, working alongside large organisations, fundraising and more.
If you are interested then please contact us at email@example.com, ring on 01273 252555 or talk to us on Facebook.
Until Next Month
That’s our main news for this month but we would also like to let you know that our online games night will be returning soon, it will be more regular and hopefully a good place to have fun and interact with other people who have similar interests.
If you would like to share your experiences of claiming benefits for a possible future project we would love to hear from you. If you are interested in having a chat please email firstname.lastname@example.org, ring on 01273 252555 or talk to us on Facebook.
