We are currently advertising two roles, and are particularly looking for applicants with lived experience of a neuromuscular condition or caring for someone with one:

Engagement Officer – 16 hours per week, 6-months contract, homeworking, £25,463-£26,470 p.a. (pro-rata), dependent on experience

The Engagement Officer will carry out welfare checks with adults with a range of neuromuscular conditions and their families, organise and run online advice and information events, and work with service providers (hospices, colleges, clinics) to help plan and communicate resuming essential services following Covid 19 shielding. This is part of a targeted intervention to address the consequences of the Covid 19 pandemic on the neuromuscular community.

Development Worker – 8 hours per week, homeworking, £25,463-£26,470 p.a. (pro-rata), dependent on experience

The Development Worker position is for the second half of a job share role. In this role you will link in with specialist hospital clinics, colleges and hospices, meeting young people and families living with neuromuscular conditions to connect them to support and resources. This will include ongoing one-to-one work with individuals, providing them with advice and information and encouraging them to become active in their community and our charity, engaging in social events and volunteering. Alongside this one-to-one role, you will be involved in organising and delivering events, supporting individuals to take on mentoring and facilitative roles.

We would consider combining these two roles for a 24 hours per week post. We are also open to job sharing arrangements if these can be facilitated. Please contact us first if you wish to apply for these options.
